Mathews, William E. (Matt) Age 40 of Knoxville, TN died Sunday July 3, 2011. Matt was born September 4, 1970 in Macon, Georgia. He graduated from Bearden High School and from The University of Tennessee where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was as an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he and Danielle were married 13 years ago, singing in the Youth choir in his childhood, and serving as an elder the past three years. Matt was a devoted son, husband, and father who loved his family, especially his beautiful little girls. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, fly fishing, camping, and kayaking with his family and friends. Matt is survived by his parents, Cile and Ed Mathews; his caring wife, Danielle Culp Mathews and daughters Hannah Paige and Eva McLain Mathews; paternal aunt and uncle, Mildred and Jack Moore of Macon, GA and maternal aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Al Adams of Augusta, GA along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00am at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Buran Phillips officiating followed by receiving of friends at the church.
