We both knew Roland while we were all teaching in the Zoology Department
(now BCMB Dept) at the University of Tennessee/Knoxville.

Roland taught Physiology, Alex taught Embryology, and Pat taught Endocrinology.

At Alex's retirement party, Roland wrote a special song for him and play it on his guitar for the entire department. He was wonderful!!

God be with you and yours, Alex and Pat

Gloria and Family,

I graduated with Roland from TCHS in 1955 and remember him so well. He was a fine classmate and I see he also excelled as an adult. The world is a much better place because of Roland's being in it. I know he must have touched so many young lives in a positive way--what better legacy to leave! You all will be remembered in my prayers. Even though you miss him, it surely seems you understand he's in a wonderful place now waiting to welcome each of you when the time is right.

In Christ,

Betty

It was good for a lot of years, and I'll always be grateful for the time we spent growing up together and the times we reconnected as adults. But it ended too soon.
