Swan, John Henry - age 80, passed away at home Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Mr. Swan graduated from Knoxville High School in 1949 and the University of Tennessee Law School in 1958. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. In 1957 he joined the family business Swan Bros. Bakery and retired in 1989, when the bakery was sold. He was a member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by parents Charles Karns Swan and Margaret Henry Swan, sisters Margaret Webb and Elizabeth Heim. He is survived by his wife Connie Potter Swan. Sons John Swan Jr. and wife Shirley, Frank Swan, and Thomas Swan. His brother Charles K. Swan and wife Berta. Grandchildren Philip, Blue, Beth, Afan, Walter, Christopher and Colby Swan. Step children Allen Potter and wife Amy, Gary Potter and wife Joan, Thomas Potter, William Potter and Kimberly Ware and husband Don. Twelve step grand children. Services will be held at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Lyons View Pike at 1:30 pm Tuesday with Dr. L. Holton Siegling, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, 3700 Keowee Avenue, Knoxville TN. Or Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
